A unique old trading post. As in the early days roads in this part of the country were rare, water transport became the obvious choice. Traders from both within Vanua Levu and nearby islands brought in their cargo of sandalwood, copra, cocoa and gold to trade or sell in exchange for their supplies before returning.

A Safe Harbour
Now a port of entry, visiting yachtsmen take advantage of the protected waters to restock and adventure, just as it used to be.

Everything You Need
Ferries from the mainland also service the port regularly. The Town's facilities include banks, a post office, restaurants and general merchants as well as a central marine facility.

Business hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Shopping hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday - some shops are open later on Fridays; 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, Saturdays with smaller sundry item shops odd hours on Sundays.
